Leave of absence

When you are on full time leave of absence you sometimes earn in to your occupational pension. How the different parts of your occupational pension is affected depends on the section you belong to. Generally speaking if you are born before 1988 you belong to section 2. If you are born 1988 or later on you belong to section 1.

Born before 1988 – section 2

If you are on full time leave of absence for example studying:

  • You do not earn into the selectable part
  • You do not earn into Kåpan Tjänste
  • You do not earn into Kåpan Flex
  • You earn into the defined benefit retirement pension for the first eight months

Will you be on part time leave of absence?

Leave of absence for other employment where you have occupational pension

If you are on leave of absence to work for another employer where you have pension rights, so called "pensionsrätt".

  • You do not earn into the selectable part
  • You do not earn into Kåpan Tjänste
  • You do not earn into Kåpan Flex
  • You do not earn into the defined benefit retirement pension

Born 1988 or later – section 1

If you are on full time leave of absence and do not receive a salary from your employer you do not earn into your occupational pension.
